Richard was the lead in Phantom of the Opera for four years from 1996 through 2000. Before this he had performed in Les Miserables and his singing and stage career spans a broad range of musical styles.

Having left musical theatre and voice coaching behind him, he realized that the world of performance offered up a compelling framework for creating possibility within business. It challenges its performers and its audience to consider how something can shift from ordinary to extraordinary.

Richard has now taken this metaphor and combined it with five years of training in performance coaching, NLP and leadership development to apply the experience he has gained at the very top of his musical profession to the world of business. Richard uses singing as both a metaphor and workshop tool to encourage individuals and teams to achieve their own personal “stretch”.

Richard challenges everyone in an audience to sail close to their edge as this is where the real learning happens. Richard believes that whether it is theatre, opera, jazz, dance or some of our world-class orchestras, they all seek to find ways to be forever innovative, agile and flexible.

Richard coaches and facilitates learning within this context. Recent clients include: Waitrose, John Lewis Partnership, JPMorgan, The Big Lottery, NHS, BBC, HBoS, Everything Everywhere and Reedsmith LLP.
